Day 38, Dufton to Alston. Today was the only day that our E2E passed through Cumbria and the weather threw a huge tantrum! We walked all day and could see no further than 50 wet metres. We were very pleased to see Jacky & Ian.  
 
 Day 39, Alson to Greenhead. Today we walked in to Northumberland and along Hadrians Wall. Our last English county treated us to perfect views and sunshine.
 



 
 Day 40, Greenhead to Bellingham. Foggy, Compo & Clegg hopping, skipping & limping along the PW.
 
 
 Day 41, Bellingham to Byrness. Some footpaths are vertical! This climb is on to the 410m Byrness hill
